America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) travels the country on a weekly basis visiting and promoting unique and noteworthy restaurants. Truckin’ Cheesy will be the 8th restaurant featured from West Virginia and the 2nd from Huntington. The Peddler was Huntington’s first.

Truckin’ Cheesy has been in business in Huntington since 2019 and was first reported on by Downtown Huntington in April of that year. They have carved out quite a niche for themselves through their one-of-a-kind originality. Truckin’ Cheesy has a menu for people who want good food and aren’t worried about counting calories or saturated fat content.

Items like the “Crazy Crinkles,” of which they have 17 different types, have made them a name in Huntington and on the internet, and are why ABR has chosen to spotlight them.

“One of our biggest sellers is the loaded Crazy Crinkles,” said owner Tyler Shelton. “We sell thousands of pounds of them a month.”

Truckin’ Cheesy now offers 16 varieties of mac & cheese, one of the newest additions to the menu. Choices include such options as “Maui Mac” (ham, bacon, and BBQ sauce), “Thunder Mac” (deep-fried cheese curds, bacon, and sriracha ranch), and “Franken-Mac” (deep-fried chopped Franks).

“I wanted to write a menu like no one had ever seen before and bring something totally unique to Huntington,” said Shelton on creating Truckin’ Cheesy.

ABR will be at Truckin’ Cheesy, 1501 Third Avenue, on September 9, 2022. The visit will be posted to the ABR website and shared to the Truckin’ Cheesy page.
