The week of October 18-25, 2026 is looking to be a fantastic week for a visit to the Jewel City of Huntington, West Virginia. The leaves should be in peak color, the weather should be mild, and it’s football season!
The Marshall Thundering Herd football squad is hosting the South Alabama Jaguars on October 20 at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The game will be nationally broadcast on ESPN2.
On Friday, October 23, internationally-touring comedian Daniel Simonsen will be performing at the Vandalia Crowd House on Third Avenue above Backyard Pizza and The Peddler Brewery. Tickets are on sale now.
You can take the Amtrak Cardinal train into Huntington (HUN) Station for either or both events. The Cardinal comes through every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday; eastbound arrives in the morning and westbound in the evening. If you want to come for the football game, you will need to come on Sunday. If you’re coming to the comedy show, you can wait until Wednesday.
