Fresh off of what I’m sure was an amazing show in Beckley, West Virginia, along with Huntington’s Of the Dell, Morgantown’s son and Huntington’s adopted beautiful blonde boy, William “Billy” Matheny has come back to us. Backed by some of the most talented musicians gracing the Appalachian hills right now, Saturday night’s show is sure to be a great one.

After releasing their album “Strange Constellations” on Misra Records last February, the group toured the United States and, for a stint, opened for fellow Whizzbang pal, Tyler Childers.

Matheny and company are re-releasing “Strange Constellations on vinyl, this time with a gold foil cover. If you preorder, it’ll ship to you on February 12, 2018 and it comes with a download code for their newest EP, “Moon Over Kenova,” due out in April via Misra.

The “homecoming” show for this fine group of troubadours will be happening January 27 at the V-Club in downtown Huntington. Joining them will be Chelsea Nolan, a wonder singer-songwriter from Kentucky who has been referred to as “Kentucky’s Janis Joplin” on more than one occasion. Also joining the fun will be another Kentucky band The Revival and I’m told they’re bringing some familiar faces with them.

Cover charge is $10. The doors will open at 8 p.m. with music starting at 10 p.m. Make sure to stick around after the show and talk to Billy and the boys at the merchandise table.
