The Philadelphia, PA-based “Chick-A-Boom” restaurant, that is coming soon to 801 Third Avenue in downtown Huntington, announced on their social media pages on Tuesday that they will be changing their name to “Crisppi’s Chicken” starting in December 2023.

The restaurant came to the attention of Marshall fans recently when Thundering Herd Hall of Famer Randy Moss announced that he would be partnering with founder Brittany Tolliferreo to become “half the face of the company.” At that time, Moss hinted at bringing a franchise back home to West Virginia with no further details.

In August, Chick-A-Boom/Crisppi’s posted the specific location in The Market space most recently occupied by The Corner Hoagies & Hops (801 3rd Avenue). They have since announced an open house for potential employees back on October 11 & 12.

The restaurant has also said they have plans to bring a concert series “Chick-A-Boom Presents,” to the Mountain Health Arena. Polls requesting suggestions for headlining acts are ongoing on Facebook and Instagram.

There is no word yet on an opening day for the Huntington restaurant, but fans are hopeful to see “The Freak” back home and behind the counter at Chick-A-Boom very soon
