Marshall University announced Monday that the official student club of the University will be rebranded as “The Stampede” and is now housed under the Big Green Scholarship Foundation.

Formerly known as the “Marshall Maniacs,” and the “Gang Green” before that, The Stampede is the best way for a student to show support for the University and the Athletic Department, according to a press release from MU.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Marshall University students into the Big Green family” says Ryan Crisp, Associate Director of Development at MU. “The opportunity to help improve our students experience and educating our students on the importance of being a Big Green member is something we couldn’t turn down.”

The cost to join The Stampede is $25/year and includes numerous benefits such as: an exclusive t-shirt, a custom key chain, a laptop sticker, a free student guest ticket to a home football game of choice (a $20 value), and a HerdPerks discount card. By joining The Stampede, students will become de facto members of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation and receive all of the perks.
