The Marshall University Thundering Herd football squad dominated the Keydets of Virginia Military Institute 56-17 Saturday in the season opener for both teams at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington.

Sophomore quarterback Isaiah Green threw a career-high 4 touchdown passes versus one interception before leaving the game early following a late hit from the VMI defense. Redshirt Senior Alex Thomson would complete the outing as QB. Redshirt Junior linebacker Jaquan Yulee also left the game on a stretcher in the first quarter due to a broken neck; he announced via Twitter that he is out for the rest of the season.
