Ona is a touring indie-rock band based out of Huntington. In 2017, they have performed shows from Birmingham, Alabama, to New York City, New York. This Saturday, Dec. 23, they return to the V-Club in downtown Huntington.

Consisting of two Brads, one Zach, another Zack and one Max, they constantly bring the melodic sounds and simple but well textured lyrics. Bradley Jenkins and Zack Owens write dreamy songs about fighting through life’s roadblocks, patience, anger and even love. Their words will stay stuck in your head for weeks and you’ll even sometimes wonder if you interpreted them correctly.

Rounding out this reliably-solid lineup are Zach Johnston, Max Nolte, and Brad Goodall, each bringing so much musical talent to the alternative and ambient table that is Ona. The five of them together manage to create sounds that are incomparable to anything else happening in the Jewel City. From clean slow jams like “Tornado Rider” to faster and more upbeat songs like “Sleep, Rinse, Repeat,” they will always leave you planning your next Ona show.

With their 2016 release of “American Fiction,” Ona managed to create a wholly unique venture that is both clever and profoundly deep at the same time. It’s really an album that you can just put on and get absolutely lost in.

The first time I personally saw Ona was at a house-show in late 2015. Even in the small space, I was mesmerized. Their music, and the house show, were totally new experiences for me. I was taken with how passionate these guys were and how they still are to this day.

On Dec. 9, Ona gave me and other fans a couple of early Christmas presents by announcing that their second album is now completely tracked and that they would see us all at home at the end of the month. “Home” happens to be the V-Club and the end of the month happens to be this Saturday, Dec. 23! The last time the boys played in town was in October and before that, April.

This Saturday, Ona will be joined by Huntington’s young and restless Of The Dell and Huntingtonian turned East Nashvillian, Sean Knisely.

The V-Club is located at 741 Sixth Avenue in downtown Huntington. Doors open at 8 p.m. with the show scheduled to start at 10. Be sure to get to the club early because you won’t want to miss a minute of any of these fellas. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
