A new locally made horror film from the demented mind of Sam Hodge is coming to Marquee Cinemas on October 30, 2023. The film was shot over the last two years in Huntington, Barboursville, Teays Valley, Wayne, and Guyandotte.
“REDHEAD” is a revenge/slasher film that makes absolutely no apologies about its brutality or prolonged death sequences. According to the slug line, cannibalism drives our star, a widow, to engage in a relentless revenge binge.
“Autumn Blacksmith finds herself on the unfortunate receiving end of torture and depravity at the hands of barbaric cannibals. After killing her way to safety, and being discharged from psychiatric care, she attempts to recover and move on. As a widow and driven by demons all her own, she finds herself unable to tolerate the misdeeds of men around her and engages in an insatiable revenge binge. Will she kill every man around her?”
The film stars Johnna Hodge as Autumn, and she also makes her directorial debut alongside her husband Sam Hodge.
The cast is rounded out by Ashley Stinnett (M30 Oxy, The Good Fight, Hope of Escape), Evan Mackey (The Walking Dead, Zombieland 2), Justin Fox (Strix, They See You), Scott Myers (Undead Fred, Taste of Revenge), and Travis Robinson (Twelve Pole Manor, Reunion From Hell 2).
Gore, blood, violence, and possession make this a classic story rounded out with all the style and atmosphere of the 1980s that horror hounds should love. The run time is 87 minutes.
The film will premiere at Marquee Cinemas in Pullman Square on October 30, 2023. The red carpet with the stars will be at 6:30 p.m. and the screening will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
