In our newest installment of #PeopleOfHuntington, we talk to Mr. Josh Chambers, who is 32 years old.
Do you have any siblings?
I have a younger sister.
Are you a morning or evening person?
Evening.
What are you most known for, especially among your friends?
I would hope to say loyalty. I feel like I try to be reliable and be there for my friends and family when they need me.
What do you do in your free time?
I spend time with my wife and two boys. I also enjoy playing basketball and golf.
What hobby would you get into if you had the time and money?
I would probably get further into golf, against my wife’s wishes obviously. By further into golf, I mean trying actually to be a half-way decent player.
If there were an Olympics for everyday activities, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal in?
It would be an event where my wife and I see how quickly we can get our kids ready for school to prevent being late.
If you had enough money to not need one, what would be your “job”?
Being a scout for a college basketball team
What are some accomplishments you’re really proud of?
Becoming a Certified Financial Planning Professional would be the accomplishment I am most proud of. It is an incredibly difficult process, but it allows me to be much more knowledgeable in my profession and provide that knowledge to people in all different walks of life.
Are you from Huntington? If not, what brings you to Huntington?
I was born and raised in Huntington.
What are three things you like best about Huntington?
Being a college town
The community
The food scene
What are three things you’d like to change?
I don’t have three things I would change. The main thing would be the stigma that surrounds us as a community. Too many people focus on the negatives.
What is/are your favorite restaurant(s) in the Huntington metro? Why?
Backyard Pizza
Jewel City Seafood
Midway Drive-In
Favorite shop(s)? Why?
I think that Pullman Square as a whole just has a ton to offer. The Market, Marquee Cinemas, the Arcade, numerous events throughout the year.
What are some things everybody should try at least once?
Many people do not travel to away games for Marshall Football games. I think it is a missed opportunity to experience some cool towns and represent The Herd.
Where is the strangest place you’ve ever been?
Morgantown (I’m kidding…kind of).
What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
There is always a way to happiness and success even when life seems bleak. This is a quote from a teacher I had in High School.
