Herd fans were treated to a show Thursday night as No. 14 Marshall men’s soccer opened their 2022 campaign with a 5-0 victory over the Virginia Commonwealth Rams at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex in Huntington.
It was total domination for the Thundering Herd from start to finish, controlling the ball for 79% of the game. Marshall outshot VCU 34-2 on the evening and 13-0 on goal.
Milo Yosef scored the first two goals, the first coming in the 3rd minute and the second in the 44th minute. Joao Souza scored the third goal in the 57th minute off an awarded penalty kick. Yosef then returned to complete his “hat trick” with a third goal in the 65th minute. Matthew Bell then notched a header into the back of the net in the 72nd minute to complete the scoring.
