The Marshall University Thundering Herd football squad clinched a nail biter over their arch rivals from Western Kentucky in the “MoonShine Throwdown” on a last second 53-yard field goal from Justin Rohrwasser to win 26-23 on Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington.
The Herd went out to a quick 14-0 score in the first quarter, but they would never see the end zone again as the remaining 12 points would come from the foot of Rohrwasser who maintains a perfect 11 of 11 on field goals for the season. WKU would tie the game up at 23 before Rohrwasser’s game-ending kick.
