“Forgotten Cotton Vintage,” a new shop specializing in vintage casual and outer wear, opened in Pullman Square in July 2024.
Forgotten Cotton is the vision of Jaxon Greer. The idea behind the endeavor is to find cool old clothes that are no longer wanted by their original owners and give them a fresh life. “The whole ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ deal,” said Greer.
When not at the shop, Greer says he spends the majority of his time hunting for specific vintage clothing wherever he can find it. He purchases the clothes, then cleans and removes any stains or flaws to “bring them back to life.” After the cleaning process, they go on the floor for sale.
The target demographic for the store is anybody who likes retro and/or vintage style, but most customers so far have been between 18-30 years old. The shop keeps vintage Marshall, Kentucky, and Ohio State gear in stock as well as various bands and pop culture icons from the 90s and before. The merchandise is original and limited as most is now out of production.
Forgotten Cotton is always looking for fresh old merchandise to stock the racks, so If you have some vintage stuff you’d like to sell, take it to the store and they’ll assess its value. Greer says they’ll take a look at any clothing that is at least 20+ years old.
If you’re looking to buy or sell a vintage Deftones, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Weird Al Yankovic T-shirt, Forgotten Cotton is your spot.
The Forgotten Cotton Vintage store is located inside Pullman Square and open Tuesday-Saturday 12 noon-8 p.m. and Sundays 12 noon-6 p.m.
